I've taken a bit of a hiatus from the blog world while my poor computer got major surgery done. Of course, that was back in May, so I have no excuse for the last six months. And since we lost every picture and video of Sage up until that time, you will just have to settle for more current pictures of the little dude.

Here is a brief introduction to Sage's Summer:

June Lake '07

This was not Sage's first trip to June Lake, but it was definitely Sage's first real June Lake experience.

Sage was blown away by it's awesome beauty.

He immediately hit the slopes.
Then showed Daddy how it was done,
and even got Abby in on the fun.
Then it time to throw every rock within a 2 mile radius into the lake... good times!

Sage became one with nature.

And then it was time to leave.
Bye, June Lake. Until next year...

Sometime in July, we went camping right there...

There was hiking, of course,
and massive stick collecting,
and tree climbing.

But Sage loved nose-picking best of all.

Two If By Sea

Seaport Village:

Sage loves water.

Sage loves climbing.

Sage especially loves to climb into water,

which would be fine except that he can't swim (that well).

Being armed with this knowledge and having an abundant

amount of wisdom, I calmly explained to Sage why he could not

climb the wall and plunge to his death.

He didn't get it.

"Say what??"

Tough Guy

Sage had to get his immunizations (in June) and this time there were FIVE shots... OOOOOOOWWWWWWEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Sage is so rad... he just smiles right through the pain!

Cousin Conundrum

Whilst visiting Grandma-D one sunny Saturday, Sage happened upon a totally rad fountain.

Uncle Ryan showed him how to make a wish by throwing a coin into the water,

and then stingily retrieved it.

Sage figured now was his opportunity to strike it rich...
unfortunately, his older cousins were already on it.

Sage dragged Abby away from his fortune,

but while Sage's attention was diverted, Asher J plunged his little hands into the overly-chlorinated water.

Backyard Adventures

One lovely Southern California afternoon (more than a few months ago), Sage decided to help G-G-ma water the yard.

As you can see, this was histerical to G-G-ma, but it got even better when Sage took matters into his own hands.

Even household chores become an adventure when Sage is around.

Little Guppy

Sage just finished his first summer swim camp at the YMCA.

He loved the splashing,

the other kids,

the toys,

but he wasn't too sure about the old people doing water aerobics.

Here he is doing the Hokey Pokey... too cute!

But I think his favorite part was getting to spend time with Daddy.

Mr. One-Year-Old

Sage's first birthday was spent at the overcast shores of La Jolla.

Sage quickly polished off his first birthday cupcake, so Dad (much to the chagrin of Mom) gave him another.

In case you can't tell, he really enjoys cupcakes!!

Then many presents had to be unwrapped, and Sage was impressed with them all.

But what he really wanted was to get some wave action!!

Sage loved his party, loves the beach, and thanks everyone for coming to celebrate with him!

Month 11

Wow! What a month!

Sage and Asher J celebrated an early first birthday together

Sage immediately devoured his birthday muffin without stopping to take the candle out

while Asher J completely disregarded the muffin and enjoyed the waxy decoration

And even after gorging himself on carbs, Sage still managed to save room for the table crumbs of Asher J's meal!

After partying hard with his big 'cuz, Sage took his first dip in the pool and absolutely loved it. We promptly signed him up for swim lessons this summer!

We also figured out why none of the other children want to play with Sage in the park...

Now imagine him crawling full speed straight at you while growling... not exactly playmate material.

But Sage finds other "friends" to keep him company

and, of course, there's always the swings!

For those of you wondering what happened to the foof... it still makes an appearance every now and again

You have to see it up close to really appreciate it

Amazing!!!!

Month 10

This month involved a whole lot of learning:

Sage learned that good things happen when he bumps into Grandma & Grandpa at the toy store.

He found out that waves are totally awesome. He worked on his aim when eating Cheerios,and found that it's even harder when you're half asleep.

But being cute doesn't have to be learned...

it just comes naturally.

Babies Galore

Sage was excited to finally spend some quality time with his female cousins...

... so excited that he had to celebrate by eating a lemon, whole.

Then he challenged Marin to a crawl-off.

(don't let Sage's size fool you, she is 4 months older!)

Sage felt so good after his workout that he decided to celebrate by eating random trash.

Then, the fierce battle over the toolbox began with Abby.

(to put his size into perspective, she is nearly twice as old as Sage!)

Sage threw his weight around and gained control of the toolbox.

To celebrate, he tasted each and every tool (lucky Andrew!)

All in all, it was an enjoyable and rather filling day!

Hiking

Sage and Daddy set out early one morning to enjoy nature.

As usual, Sage was totally stoked and ready for adventure.

The enthusiasm tapered quickly.

Sage loves having his nap interrupted.
Once he shook off the grumpies, he totally dug the view. And yes, Sage's hair even rises in high altitude.

Playground Shenanigans

Playground Antics

Since the park is where all the cool kids hang out,

I thought I'd give it a try.

Riding the space rocket gave me instant street cred.

My domination of the wavy slide is now legendary.

The floor was so squishy...

... it kinda freaked me out at first,

but I had to act cool in front of the ladies.

Then me and Mom went on the swings.

She was totally messing with my big boy image,

so I decided to brave the swings alone!

With my cool factor off the charts,

I headed home to take a nap and dream about

sand boxes and monkey bars!

Month 7

Christmas

'Twas my first ever Christmas, when all through the house,

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;

So I cooed and I coughed and my cry I did blare,

In hopes that my parents soon would be there;

No longer nestled all snug in their beds,

My parents were holding their poor throbbing heads;

So my screams I abated to lighten the mood,

Once Mom and Dad arrived to check on their dude;

As I lifted my head, the laughter caused such a clatter,

I looked in the mirror to see what was the matter,

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a foof the size of Mt. Rainier;

"What a Christmas disaster," I grumbled and moaned,

Then hastened to search through some things that I owned;

"This ribbon is perfect," I chortled and clacked,

"From my extral large foof it will surely detract."

But detract it did not, the ribbon had to go,

So I said good-bye to my Rambo-like bow;

Time for the big guns, the foof must meet its end,

I couldn't do it alone, so I called in my friends;

"Now! Redken, now! Pantene, now! Suave, and Nexxus!

On! Paul Mitchell, on! Dep, on! Dove, and Tres Flores!

Fix my hair quickly, make speed and make haste,

This foof cannot win, I will not be disgraced!"

And then, in a twinkling, my friends finished their task,

I turned to my parents, their opinion to ask;

They sniggered and sneered, their faces a gawk,

Apparently amused by my trendy faux-hawk;

"Bah humbug," I snarled, "No more Christmas for me!

Clearly this holiday was not meant to be!"

Then I pouted and sulked, in the corner I sat,

When I noticed a fuzzy red Santa hat;

"If I can't tame my foof, I'll cover it instead!"

And I tugged the cap onto my rather large head;

I was jolly once again, to everyone's delight, so

"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

Month 6

What's up??

Sage is feelin' pretty big now that he's a whopping 6 months!

He celebrated by watching his first parade,

taking a big boy bath,

(with strategically placed cup)

dressing like Daddy (cool surfer),

and fighting off the paparazzi... sigh!

Thanksgiving Day

Food Monster

Yesterday, Sage's Fairy-Grandmother stopped by with a very special chair for a very hungry boy. He sat in it and was delighted to find how comfortable and grown-up the chair made him feel. Then the real fun began as a soft spoon swooped in and deposited sweet potatoes into his slobbery little mouth. (warning: do not attempt to read that sentence aloud if you have a lisp) The new taste and texture sent his tastebuds into a frenzy. The spoon couldn't come fast enough, so he took matters into his own hands. After sucking the last remnants off his chubby little fingers, his (not so little) tummy cried out for more. His appetite took control and turned him loose upon the camera. Mom's cat-like reflexes prevented any irreparable harm, and soon the food monster was satiated with half a jar of veggies (not too shabby for a 5 month old)! Mr. Sweet Potato Head!

Ridiculously Cute

June Lake

My June Lake Adventure:

Mom had always told me about her most favorite place in the world and now she was finally going to take me there. We got the car all loaded (I'm not exactly a light packer) and set off on our grand adventure. I was soooooo excited......until I realized there was six more hours of this:The drive was a major bummer, but luckily I had my backseat buddy, Susie, to keep me entertained. Plus, we had some major stretch sessions to break up the monotony.

We finally made it to the cabin, which was covered in gold (thanks to the quaking Aspens). I was one "eager beaver" and couldn't wait to get out and do the nature thing!

It didn't take long for me to see what the hype was about as me and Mom looked out over the lake.(yeah... Mom is pretty awesome!)

Just when I thought life couldn't get any better, guess who showed up?!

SURPRISE!!!!

With Dad in the picture, we decided to do something a little more hardcore.

I got all set to go... ...Dad mapped out the course...
...and we were off to discover Parker Lake.

There were so many things I had never seen...
...like fresh water and smogless air.

I was so busy taking it all in that I didn't notice I lost my shoe......OOPS!!

I didn't want Mom to be mad at me, so I gave her the ol' cute face routine and all was forgiven.

Plus, Dad chose to walk around on floating logs and took a little dip in the lake, so me and Mom had a good laugh at his expense.
Eventually, Dad made it back to shore

and we made our way back home.

All that hiking and fresh airmade me hungry
and exhausted.

But as far as June Lake goes...
...I think I like it here!

Abby's Birthday Party

Sage had a pretty exciting weekend. His cousin, Abby, turned one and invited Sage to celebrate the momentous occasion. Sage was totally stoked... he loves parties! He couldn't wait to see the balloons, eat cupcakes, and go on the pony rides.

The cupcakes were awesome, the balloons were everywhere, but Sage didn't see any ponies. He watched the party games with little interest. He reluctantly posed for the camera and endured the affection of his family.

Sage wondered how much longer he would have to wait for the pony rides and how much longer he would have to endure this guy who was neither a pony...

... nor very entertaining. He hoped it wouldn't be much longer!

Finally, the party was ending and there was not one pony in sight. Sage was devistated. He had been certain that he would get to ride a stumpy steed and now he only had this strange, sweet smelling, shiny object to comfort him.... mmmmm... comfort food.

Sage fell asleep that night thinking about pony rides and shiny things...

... and what a sweet dream it was.

p.s. Adrianna... the party was lovely... we had a great time!
